Trước khi bắt đầu, mình sẽ nói về đặc quyền của người chơi mới trong khoảng thời gian mới bắt đầu ở Torn City. Đó là:
New Player Protection (Bảo Vệ Người Chơi Mới):
Người chơi mới (New Player) sẽ được bảo vệ trong 14 ngày (từ Age: 0 cho tới Age:14). Biểu tượng hiển thị cho điều đó là Chiếc Lá Màu Xanh Lá (Green Leaf)
. Từ Age: 15 trở đi, kết thúc bảo vệ.
Về cốt lõi, người chơi mới được cung cấp bảo vệ khỏi những người chơi lâu ngày, lâu năm. Bảo vệ họ khỏi sự ức hiếp, … Quy tắc cho điều này như sau:
- Người chơi mới có thể tấn công hoặc bị tấn công bởi những người chơi mới còn đang được bảo vệ bởi hệ thống (New Player Protection).
- Người chơi mới có thể tấn công người chơi không còn được bảo vệ.
- Người chơi mới không thể bị tấn công từ những người chơi không còn được bảo vệ.
- Người chơi mới có thể đặt tiền thưởng (bounty) hoặc nhận tiền thưởng từ những người chơi còn đang được bảo vệ.
- Người chơi mới không thể bị đặt tiền thưởng hoặc nhận tiền thưởng từ những người chơi không còn được bảo vệ.
- Với Chiến Tranh Phe Phái (Faction War), Bảo Vệ Người Chơi Mới sẽ tạm thời bị vô hiệu hóa trong khoảng thời gian tham gia cuộc chiến. Khi kết thúc thì Bảo Vệ sẽ được mở lại.

Visit your home (Ghé thăm nhà của bạn):
Your ‘Home’ is where all your personal information gets stored. I keep all my information stuffed down my pants, nobody ain’t wanna go near there. Your home’s got pretty much every little detail you need to know about yourself; what cash you got, what energy you have, and your name…in case you got drunk and forgot it. I do that all the time. Take a look, and then get back here by clicking “George’s Missions”. Oh and if you get confused while I’m helping ya’ll learn how Torn works, just click whatever is flashing. Easy peasy.

Ya’ll can level up and unlock more stuff eventually, just don’t overdo it, cos your energy won’t last forever. I threw up last time I went. Now I can’t go back. Heh heh, they still ain’t got the stain out of the carpet.

Giao diện Gym
_ 4 loại chỉ số chiến đấu (Battle Stats)(Sức mạnh, Phòng thủ, Nhanh nhẹn, Khéo léo) như thế nào mình cũng đã từng đề cập ở bài viết trước, các bạn lưa chọn rồi nhập số lần mà các bạn muốn tập luyện. Các bạn để ý 5 energy per train (5 Năng lượng cho mỗi lần tập). Ban đầu mọi người đều có 100E, nên số lần tập tối đa có thể là 100/5 = 20 lần. Sau đó bạn nhấn Train là sẽ hết 100 E và tăng chỉ số. Sẽ có một khoảng thời gian để hồi đủ và Train tiếp.

Get a job (Nhận 1 công việc nào đó)
Ya’ll need to earn yourself a pay packet bucko if you gonna survive here. Even those fancy pants Corleone’s started out hawking salad dressing, so you’d better try looking in the local newspaper, under the Job Listings page. You ain’t much yet so you can’t afford to be too picky. Heck I still shine shoes for $4 a pop. When you get a fancy pair give me a call. Jobs also build up your stats every day, and the higher your stats the better jobs come-a-callin’ for you. So get out there and make yourself some dough.

5. You will see a dialogue, with the option to sign up. If this is the job for you click “Sign up”. If not click back and explore the other Starter Jobs.
Trước khi phỏng vấn nó có đưa ra 2 lựa chọn: 1- Phỏng vấn, 2-Khám phá. Nếu mấy bạn chọn khám phá thì nó sẽ giới thiệu sơ qua về Job, còn 1 thì là vô trả lời phỏng vấn luôn.
6. Once you have signed up, you will be redirected to your employment page.
Một khi bạn trả lời phỏng vấn thành công. Bạn sẽ được chuyển tới giao diện của nhân viên. (Có thể xem trên video).

Start an education course (Bắt đầu học tập)
I ain’t much for likin’ them brainiac kids, but getting an education is a smart move. The more you learn the more you earn. Plus if you take a few classes you’ll get other stuff too. Take a look. Gettin’ educated can take days, weeks or even months and will use up energy. I get tired just thinkin’ about it. But be patient: don’t give up in the first week like me. I ain’t done so good since I dropped out of kindergarten.

3. Once you have chosen your area of study, choose which class from the list you wish to enter.
Khi bạn đã chọn khóa học, thì bạn sẽ chọn môn học. Tuy nhiên lúc đầu thì bạn cũng phải chọn môn học đầu tiên rồi.
4. At the bottom of the course description you will see “Join this course”. If this is the one you want click on Join this course.

P/s: Khung màu đỏ là những gì bạn sẽ đạt được sau khi học xong khóa học này, khung màu vàng là thời gian học, học phí. Khung màu xanh lá là chỗ Tham gia khóa học (Do mình học xong rồi nên nó không hiện nữa). Về học phí thì có loại cổ phiếu (International School TC – IST) giúp miễn phí học phí, tuy nhiên cái này bạn có thể mượn những người có cổ phiếu này để đạt quyền lợi trên vì nếu bạn mua cổ phiếu này thì nó mắc hơn tổng học phí toàn lĩnh vực. Có thể pm mình (Goomonryong [2268574]) nếu bạn cần.
5. After clicking Join this course, you will see a page describing how long the course takes to complete and the cost. If satisfied, click “Yes sign me up”.
Sau khi nhấp vào Tham gia khóa học này, bạn sẽ thấy một trang mô tả thời gian hoàn thành khóa học và chi phí. Nếu hài lòng, hãy nhấp vào “Có, tôi đăng ký”.
6. You will then be redirected to a page telling you, you have signed up and the length of time until you have completed the course.

I got lost on my first day in Torn, ended up sleeping behind a strip club. Wasn’t so bad! Torn City can be pretty overwhelming when you get here, but you’ll get used to it if you take a wander around. Visit some shops; look at the stock market–hey, go see what’s in the town dump! I found a whole mattress down there. Barely a stain on it! Using the city map you can explore by zooming in. There is also a ‘Quick Links’ panel if you find that easier to use.

Start off with something big to thwack folk with, a melee weapon. You can buy em at Big Al’s gun shop. And remember where it is because you’ll be going there a lot. Not me though. Al banned me after what I did in his bathroom …

6. Click “Yes” on the next screen.

Equip your melee weapon (Trang bị vũ khí cận chiến):
A weapon ain’t no good if you leave it at home or behind a dumpster. Equip yourself with that melee weapon you just bought. “Equipping” is having the weapon ready to use. I learnt that word from a french guy. Take a look at your items and click the + button beside the weapon you wanna use. You’re now ready for battle. Yeehaw!

So here’s the thing, there’s one poor sap who everyone beats on when it’s their first day in Torn – Test Dummy #2 [ID]. You will need to search for him using the search bar thingamajig at the top of your screen. Test Dummy #2 is an NPC (Non-Playing Character) with lower than average stats. Even lower than me! So don’t worry, he ain’t gonna fight back.

Assumin’ you trained hard in the gym, you’re more likely to win a brawl. Fight to the end and win the battle to complete the task.

Whenever you trash an item it’ll end up at the dump. Old guns, soiled pants, those magazines you need to get rid of real quick. You’d be surprised how many people dive in here to search through the piles of hobo treasure, and you’ll be even more surprised by what you can find, if you are patient. I found a box of back massagers yesterday. At least I think that’s what they was.

Buy Ammo
Unless you got ammo for that gun then you just bought yourself a real expensive club to hit folk with, so get yourself to the ammo locker and buy what you need. You’ll automatically load your guns with the ammo you’ve bought before each attack. But make sure you buy ammo that matches the gun you want to use. Don’t do what I did and try to load 8mm slugs into a potato gun.

One day soon you’ll want to join a faction. Factions are groups of people working together and protecting each other. They commit organised crimes and go to war with other factions. None of them will have me because apparently I have an “interesting odour” and can’t shoot for shit. But all of them are interested in recruiting people with high stats, which is another reason to spend a lot of time at the gym. Go and take a look at a faction or two! And ask them to let me in too.

So you’ll have to increase either your strength, speed, dexterity or defense to 15 the old fashioned way. It’ll be up to you to figure out the combination of stats which work the best for your style. Now if you’ll excuse me I’m heading to the dump to find some lingerie what fits a hairy old man.

To do this you gotta reach level 2. Most of the stuff you’ll do in Torn will give you experience and level you up. And levelling up will give you access to more areas of the city and increase your life. That’s why I ain’t got much and I look like crap, I just sit around all day. Did you know I’m only 25?

1. Leveling can be obtained through attacking and selecting the “Leave” option, and by doing crimes and succeeding. Attacking helps you gain levels faster if you “Leave” your opponent.

It took you 26 weeks and 3 days to complete all my missions. That’s a pretty good time for someone as green around the gills as you. I got high hopes for you new player. Don’t make the same mistakes old George did.
Now you know the basics – it’s time to move on.
You’ll need to learn quick, think fast and stay alert. The competition around here can get pretty intense so make sure you train hard in the gym, get educated quickly, get promoted at work and always be on guard. Oh and don’t leave your breakfast burrito out in the sun too long. Learnt that the hard way.
I’m sure a good looking guy like you will attract attention and it won’t be long before you get a marriage proposal. I might even propose myself! But look, getting hitched is good and all, you get plenty of benefits, just don’t lose focus new player. There’s still plenty of missions, crimes and wars to be won.
You’re on your own now and life will start to get harder. Make sure you pace yourself… Torn is a long-term endeavour and gets more exciting the longer you’re here.
If you overdo it, you’ll need to wait for your energy to regenerate naturally. To speed this up you could buy a donator pack for increased energy levels and quicker recovery time.
